href=\"https:\/\/environment.ec.europa.eu\/news\/sustainable-cities-five-finalists-european-green-capital-leaf-awards-2023-07-20_en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">The European Commission&#8217;s European Green Capital Award<\/span><\/a> recognizes and rewards local efforts to improve the environment and therefore the economy and quality of life in cities.<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><p>Cities are selected based on their commitment to tackling urban environmental challenges, and the prize is awarded each year to a city that leads the way towards
