In 2024, tourism exports totalled \u20ac28 billion, placing Portugal fifth among European Union (EU) countries with the highest foreign revenue from this sector. At the top of the list was Spain, with \u20ac98 billion, followed by France, Italy and Germany.<\/p>

This and further information is available in the latest statistical analysis by the Bank of Portugal on the impact of tourism on Portugal’s balance of payments, with a comparison with other European Union countries and the main markets for travel and tourism exports.<\/p>
