Airport passenger traffic rebounds in July
In July 2026, national airports returned to growth.
According to data released by Statistics Portugal (INE), 7.7 million passengers were handled, representing a year-on-year increase of 2.0% in passenger traffic.
This figure is above the level recorded in June, when passenger traffic had declined by 0.2% year-on-year.
On average, 128.5 thousand passengers disembarked per day, up 2.0% compared to July 2025.
On a year-to-date basis, between January and July, passenger growth stands at 2.4%.
In terms of flight connections, the United Kingdom remained the main country of origin and destination. France, Spain, Germany and Italy followed, in that order, as the 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th main markets.
