Statistics Portugal (INE) – Q2 2026 Sees Growth in Overnight Stays
Statistics Portugal (INE) reveals that the tourist accommodation sector in Portugal maintained its growth trajectory, recording 9.4 million guests (+2.3% year-on-year) and 23.3 million overnight stays (+1.2%).
In terms of financial revenue, total earnings reached 2.1 billion euros (a 5.2% increase) and accommodation revenue reached 1.6 billion euros (+4.5%).
Inbound markets remained the primary drivers of demand, accounting for 71.9% of total overnight stays (16.7 million).
Finally, the report also analyzes the impact on sector employment and earnings, noting that the average gross monthly remuneration per worker in tourist accommodation increased by 5.7% compared to the previous year.
